Proposal 105: 14C.2.6 General (Board of Referees) [ Revision 1 ]

Committee: 14. Hockey
Submitted on 2025-07-20
Status: Set-Aside (Reviewed from July 20, 2025 to July 28, 2025)

Background

Herbie Herrmann:

Animated by discussion (Insults 14B.8.5) what should happen if someone or more from the audience try to influence the game/event flow?

The referrees should have the oportunity to make a time stop, first trying themselves to stop this influence or to pass the responsibility to local event officals (currently not a listet task of the hockey director).<

Proposal

Old:

14C.2 Board of Referees
...
14C.2.6 General
...
When two or more players fall and it is unclear whether a foul occurred, the referees
can interrupt the game and then continue it with a face-off. This prevents more players
being drawn into the situation.

The referees suspend the game if an injury occurs. Afterwards, a free shot is given to the
team that was in possession of the ball at the time of the interruption. If it is unclear
who was in possession, the game is continued with a face-off.

Body

Jan Vocke:

In principle, I would agree that spectators are not subject to the IUF Rulebook - but as soon as they influence the competition, they are in a way subject to the competition rules.

I think a rule like this can make sense and I think it is best placed in the chapters on the individual disciplines, as there are currently no such responsibilities defined in the general section (and there is also no good rule for doing so).
