Proposal 106: 14.B.8.1 General Considerations (Fouls) [ Revision 1 ]

Committee: 14. Hockey
Submitted on 2025-07-20
Status: Set-Aside (Reviewed from July 20, 2025 to July 28, 2025)

Background

Herbie Herrmann:

The word "warning" is not used in part 14 of the rulebook! I am unsure the need of a card system. But give a "warning" prior punishment should be includes in the hockey rules.

Proposal

Old:

14.B.8 Fouls

14.B.8.1 General Considerations (Fouls)

...

To keep the game going, rule violations
that do not influence the course of the game should not be penalized.

New:

14.B.8 Fouls

14.B.8.1 General Considerations (Fouls)

...

To keep the game going, rule violations that do not influence the course of the game should not be penalized. A warning can be given to the offending player indicating that stricter ruling will follow.

Body

Ole Jaekel:

Yes, the warning / yellow card is missing in the rulebook. If it were present it could help referees to go the next step after a warning and give that 2-minute penalty.
