Fiba rules article 7 define rules for Head Coach and 1st assistant coach. Each team should be allowed 1 non player coach, the coach should register as a competitor and be eligible for awards with the team.

No strong opinion on this.
A question: is it usual in sport that the coach receives the same award as its team?
Comment
This is the case in American team sports and Fiba basketball, it appears not to be the case at the Olympics

Thanks for the information.
I guess this should also be discussed at a larger scale: what about the freestyle choregrapher or the hockey coach?

My preference would be that Hockey coach is also eligible, for Freestyle I would restrict to large group if at all.

I can only contribute experience from freestyle in Germany: here it is not usual for the groul freestyle coaches to be included in the awards. But usually the coaches are not registered for the competition here either. I think if a group freestyle coach would register for the competition they would be included.
In general I like the idea that a registered coach in a team sport is also included in the awards. But maybe this is also something for the Main Committee to discuss?

Hi Everyone,
I am a non-playing coach for a team sport in A-level competition and I work full-time in athletics and sports tournaments for a living. I can attest that it is mandatory in team sport culture around the world for coaches to be included in medals and awards, as they are part of their team. I would argue that it is rude and unlrofessional to not include them. This is something that the unicycle community needs to adapt to if they're going to have team sport events. Freestyle culture is different, and this decision doesn't need to be applied outside of team sports. I would argue that A level tournaments should have this rule adapted, but B level may not need the same scrutiny?
This is an issue for the team sport committee to discuss and doesn't need to be brought to the main committee, as it's a simple solution: we figure out how we want the coaches to register, and include them with their team competitors.

But there is not one teamsport committee - unicycling teamsports are spread over several committees and I think if it is considered a good idea to include coaches in the awards, then this should apply to all teamsports in unicycling (which I would very much welcome). And since there is more than one team sport in unicycling and more than one committee is “affected” in the end, I think it would make sense to bring this topic to the Main Committee as well.
