Heyho!
So since we have quite some new members here and many of us don't know each other i thought a little Introduction of everyone could be nice :-)
I'll start.
I am Fin Thiessen from Jena, Germany. I am 27 years old, been riding since 4th grade, i was about 10 when i started. I got into playing inline hockey first, then with 12 i took a stick and my unicycle and thought i invented unicycle hockey. Sadly it took met till i was 16 to finally find out that the sport already exists and i joined the "Hamburger Rädertierchen", quite a good unicycle hockey team from Hamburg.
In 2020 i moved to Jena, Thüringen, thought my hockey time was over, since there was no team in Jena. But in 2022 i co-founded the "MUH-Bande Jena". It was only here that i truly learned, how much unicycle hockey means to me. We've been a very active team ever since, last season with 20 tournaments, setting a new record for the most tournaments in one season. In 2024 i joined the Chair of the German Unicycle Hockey league with the intent to especially have an eye on the players and teams who play for fun rather for winning only. For me, one of the great strengths of unicycle hockey is that people love and respect each other on and off the pitch, the rivalry is not as fierce as it is in other sports. I want to nurture this spirit.
Can't wait to hear a little bit from you :-)

Hi, I am from Australia. I have been riding for 12 years, I started in December 2012.
I began in urban disciplines, but had more skills in hockey, so spend most of my time training this discipline. I really like to improve my own skills and aim to play as much as I can internationally, to be pushed by better players. I worked out recently that I have travelled overseas to play hockey 10 out of 12 years that I have been riding, which has been every year except for COVID years when travel was banned in Australia.
My home team in Germany is Lohrheim and I have spent a lot of time training and travelling around the Frankfurt region to play hockey.
I have been to 3 European championships and 5 UNICONs and directed the last two UNICON hockey tournaments. I like to help develop the sport where I can. I am proud of the fact that in Grenoble we had hockey 9 days out of 12 which I think was a big success.
I figured no need to put your name in this post. For those of us in the committee you can see the names of each person on their post, and the deitentified rulebook forum can still be read by anyone. I don't mind for myself as I am identifiable by my story, but others may not want to be identifiable.

I have been riding the unicycle since about 23 years and playing hockey in tournaments for about 18 years (Swiss League and since 2012 all UNICONs in Europe and almost all European championships).
I also have been responsible for the training and education of the unicycle hockey referees in Switzerland since about 10 years.

I playing hockey in tournaments for about 18 years. My first practical training course for refereeing was is 2008. Since that time I refereeing in the German league, on 4 UNICONs and on 2 European championships. Sine 2013 I am manager and captain of my team. On average we have played 12 to 14 tournaments per year in league, at least 2 games per tournament I am refereeing. I was Voting Member in rulebook committees in 2016 and 2018 (last rule changes in hockey). Due to my health and age my quality of playing is gone but I love this sport and carry on as long it will be possible - just for fun.

Hi thank you for your interesting introductions!
I learned to ride the uniycle 25 years ago. Since 22 years i am playing unicycle hockey - the best sport in the world! 😁
Soon I learned, it always needs someone to constantly provide training and tournament possibilities to keep the sport, the community and it's teams alive so I didn't bother to be that one in my city Dresden. I worked on getting my team into a sports club which could provide us with a gym (don't scratch it!), where we could practice (both club and players need to be convinced), so we could leave the free IKEA parking lot on sundays and stop ruining our sticks on the concrete.
I also give unicycle courses at elementary schools to recruit new players, and coach our three existing teams.
I volunteered for many years in the Ligaausschuss, Germany's unicycle hockey league board, where we often have to discuss about the rules. I also help to educate referees.
I joined the UNICONs in San Sebastian and Grenoble with my hockey team, always a great experience!

I’m in the Minneapolis area and with the Twin Cities Unicycle Club. I used to compete mostly in freestyle, but first competed in hockey at Unicon in 1998 at Bottrop, and have played since. Now that I’m older I pretty much only do hockey and organize the hockey part of our club (our main problem right now is getting enough players together for practice!)
I also have two sons, 7 and 4. The older one has been in ice hockey for over 3 years and is quite good already, playing year around. The younger one will probably play as well, so I have some perspective from the world of ice hockey, which is huge in Minnesota. The older one can already ride a unicycle, hopefully they will both also turn into talented unicycle hockey players when they get older and we can grow the club to field a competitive team!

I'm playing hockey since 20 years and attended 100+ tournaments in the German hockey league and 6 Unicons during that time. Since 10 years I'm a member of the Germany's unicycle hockey league board.
I also give unicycle training for children in our club. So far without hockey, but maybe this will change at some point :)

Hello everyone,
I've been riding unicycles since around 2005/2006 and have been playing unicycle hockey ever since. My first major tournament was Eurocycle 2006 in Bellenberg, Germany. After that, I played for several years in the Swiss hockey league before switching to the German unicycle hockey league. Since 2012, I've participated in every UNICON held in Europe, as well as every Eurocycle, always competing in hockey.
Looking forward to working together with all of you!
Best regards,
Benny
