During EUHC2023, the idea was raised to mark the 6.5m line at the walls (a line with tape) to ease the distinction between free shorts and corners (which is easier than ‚searching‘ for the 6.5m point).
In the previous rulebook committee, this idea was approved (https://iuf-rulebook-2022.committees.unicycling-software.com/discussions/71).
Comment
Yes I think this is a good change
Comment
In the german league this is already done most of the times so i would very much like to see this addition.

When it comes to markings, i always found it weird, that its actually not clear where the corner markings are. On the same level as the goal line, yes, but how far away from the side wall? To keep it consistent with the other discussion about distances i would suggest having it 2m from the side walls.

This idea was popping up 10 or more years ago. In tournaments run by my team we maid this markes very often. We use(d) adhesive tape as marking tape app. 20 x 4 cm on the wall or side bench (etc.). It's a good help for the referees. I would do it only at the 6,5m-line not at the goal line.
"2m from the side walls" should be a seperate dicussion.
Nicolai or the chair of this sub committee should start the first proposal for 14D.3.3 Markings.
Comment
"The goal line between the goal posts has to be marked." should be added in the proposal.
Comment
I agree that this rule change would be beneficial but I would prefer to keep this as a separate proposal.
Comment
You agree, but why open for simple marking a separate proposal. I think this can be done in one go.
