Today I made my last comments in several discussions and running proposals.
Keep rules simple and as short as possible. Don`t invent rules which not really needed. If you improve rules, please keep in mind that the majority of the players should know and obey these rules – don`t make rule for experts or A-class players.
The current rulebook part 14 Hockey with 19 pages is more like a booklet. With all the new rules somebody has to learn them will increase to a small book.
With the current rules it is already not easy to find volunteers for the job as referees. Several proposals end with a need for expert referees.
When the new hockey rules enter into force, I will immediately stop volunteering for referring.
After many years of challenging work in rulebook committees, I am looking forward to my retirement.
Take care and it was nice knowing you
