One think I realized when I informed the hockey committee: Perhaps instead of "[...] A competitor who may or may not be riding in the event but is able to speak on the team’s behalf with Judges and Directors." we should write "[...] A competitor who may or may not be riding in the event but is able to speak on the team’s behalf with Judges and Officials."
“Judges and Officials” is the title of section C of the rules and technically there is sometimes no explicit position ‘Judge’, which would be caught by “Officials” on the one hand and on the other hand the wording would match the heading of the section in the rulebook.

Ah that would be an improvement. I was trying to make sure I found terms that would suggest the expansive group of organizers who may interface with teams in a meaningful way
